Link baits
You can go on blogging for ages with ok material and nobody notices you. On the other hand one good piece might bring you tons of visitors, some of which might like your other stuff and subscribe.
Really good articles, ones that get linked to and passed around to friends, often require lot’s of research. On top of that a great idea, good excecution and some footwork to get the ball rolling. That’s why I think these things could be better worked on in groups.
We’d all like to do a piece on the gift cerficate conspiracy, the top5 funniest fashion fads or a Jenna Jameson timeline complete with pictures and movies. The treshhold for tackling the project alone is huge and most of the time big enough for the “funniest porno titles” post to remain just another idea.

Sounds pretty interesting but it isn’t too clear how the whole thing is supposed to work in practice. Content through teamwork, ok, sounds good but could you be more precise as to what’s supposed to take place on this blog?

Hi!
The simplest way for the collaboration is that people submit their ideas or even half-ready work by e-mail or as comments and I post the submissions as blog posts. They can then be found under categories such as “Work in progress” or “Ideas”. Anyone who is interested in the topic can then post their input as comments.
Hopefully the post ends up being good enough for it to be posted somewhere. Then we credit the original poster as well as people who contributed to the small project and everybody lives happily everafter.
The submissions can be just random ideas but also something you plan on posting on your blog but have trouble writing alone. If you are the original poster you obviously get first dibs on submission rights but in all other cases we’ll just have to work out such an arrangement that’s fair for everyone involved.
Don’t be afraid to ask more if I wasn’t too clear.

Probably worth pointing out that the posts then are probably best aimed at being “lasting” - if it takes time and collaboration to put together then “current events” probably isnt the best topic.
Intriguing idea
